Chris Blanton


After studying voice and piano at Shorter College, Chris Blanton began leading choirs and worship bands big and small in 1997. An accomplished ASCAP songwriter, he has released 70+ recordings of Country, Folk, Rock, and Instrumental available to stream and published his own sheet music. Chris has published both an 18-day devotional book based on his song “Today I Choose” and an article explaining his Blanton Difficulty Rating—a mathematical formula he developed to quantify the vocal difficulty of a melody. Chris’ life verse is James 1:22, which encourages us go beyond increasing our knowledge by putting those things we are learning into practice. He and Laura were married in 2000 and have five children. Chris welcomes the opportunity to encourage families in their musical and technical journey of enhancing the community worship experience.
